Temporary Contact Committee
WANT TO HELP NEWLY RELEASED INMATES FIND THEIR WAY TO AN A.A. MEETING?THE TEMPORARY CONTACT COMMITTEE OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS IS THE ONE FOR YOU.
It is a sub-committee of the Correctional Facilities Committee and meets on the 3RD Wednesday of the month at 7:00PM at the Intergroup Central Office, 444 No. 3rd Street, Suite #3E, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
Members of the Temporary Contact Committee try to help by escorting the newly released prisoner to a few meetings during their first days and weeks on the outside.
Carrying the A.A. message is our only purpose. The Temporary Contact person does NOT provide money, housing, jobs, clothes, legal or marital advice. This is only a temporary contact to introduce the newcomer to the A.A. program and to help them locate meetings in the community.
Responsibilities of member of this committee:
One year or more continuous sobriety
Take a newcomer to an A.A. meeting the day of release, if possible
Provide an A.A. meeting directory and familiarize them with it
Remain in contact with them for at least 30 days
