75 years of AA in  Philadelphia 

AA in Philadelphia will be 75 years old in March 2015.  Plans are underway to have a big birthday celebration for AA on Saturday, March 7, 2015.  Planning meetings are being held now.  Come on out to help plan this big event.  Next Planning Meeting is Monday, December 22 at 7 pm at the SEPIA office.  All are welcome to come help.  Actual event will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and Paul at 18th and Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 2 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015 for the celebration and at 4 pm for food, fun and fellowship,  Monetary donations are needed at this time so please send checks payable to "75th AA anniversary in Philadelphia" and mail to C/O 75th anniversary Treasurer at P. PLANNING MEETINGS - Sunday, January 11, 2015 - 1 pm - Share A Day planning meeting that will be held in February.  Come help us plan this annual event.


ROUND UP PLANNING MEETING - Sunday, January 25, 2015 - 1 pm - Come help plan the annual ROUND UP that will be held in Cape May from April 10th to 12th.  Need many volunteers so come on out and volunteer to chair a meeting, or help in any way.


SATURDAY, December 20 - NEW CLOSED AA ARCHIVES MEETING - taping of a guy with 50 years of sobriety from Young Men's group - donuts wil be served. Also, on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the SEPIA office - a taped closed speaker meeting will be held.  All AA members are welcome to attend.  If you have over 20 years of continuos sobriety and want to be taped, please contact Brian Q (Archivist) or one of the Archives committee members. Call SEPIA office at 215-923-7900 and the office will pass your name and information out to the committee.

Tuesday, December 30 (last Tuesday of eery month) - the local MONTGOMERY COUNTY ZONE Pubic Information (PI) and Cooperation with the Professional Communities (CPC) committee meets at St. Peter's Church on Easton Road in Glenside at 7 pm. All interested in serving on one of these commitees are welcome to attend.

Every Saturday in December  GO TO ANY LENGTH (a running group) sponsoring a walk/run from 8 am to 9 am (rain or shine) at the Wissahickon Valley Park.  Running group is open to anyone who wants to get or stay sober.  We welcome beginners and experienced runners.  Meet at Northwestern Avenue and Forbidden Drive in the park near Northwestern Avenue and Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill.  Beginners:  gentle warm up, 1 mile run at slow pace.  Experienced:  up to 5 mile run on packed gravel at easy pace.  After run, open sharing, with closing and then fellowhip breakfast at Bruno's.  Contact:  This email address is being protected from spambots. SEPIA is always in need of volunteers to help carry the message of recovery. You simply have to show up. Most committees do not have a length of sobriety requirement. There are several ways to get involved.

  1. Volunteer at the SEPIA office. We ask one year of continuous sobriety to answer phones at the office. If you have less than a year, there are plenty of things you can do to help. For instance, we can always use help putting our newsletter, Interviews, together toward the end of each month.
  2. Get involved with one of our 12 Step Committees (Click Here). These committees meet at the SEPIA office, 444 N. 3rd Street, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the following nights:
